Ghost recognises the Environment File and seems all ready to restore my data however it prompts for the Symantec Recovery Disk which I cannot find.ġ) How do I obtain a new Symantec Recovery Disk ISO and which version do I need - 12 or 15?Ģ) How best to proceed to restore files? Not really concerned about the System files but there are some large data files we would like back! Do I carry out a 'Custom Recovery Disk' procedure? I have now restored an O/S (XP) and installed the trial version of Ghost 15 (which I will purchase if this goes well). Both dated March 29th which sounds right about the time I installed the new second drive. The second small file is a 'Symantec Recovery Environment File'. In Feb this year I purchased a new terabyte drive to act as my second hdd and restarted the Ghost backups.Ī few weeks back my main disc drive died but I am left with 2 files in 'Norton Backups' on my second drive, one of which is 200GB so I am assuming that that is my backed up data - it is referred to as a 'Symantec Image file' by. It was set to backup C:/ to a second physical drive - but by late last year the second drive was full. I ran Ghost 12 for several years, purchased in 2007.
